Starry Night Farm
Starry Night Farm
OCALA, FLORIDA
Starry Night Farm was acquired in 2001 by Judy Downer and her husband, Joe Bongiovanni. The couple previously lived in southern New Jersey. Shortly after moving to the northwest Ocala area, a meteor shower found the couple watching the spectacle from lawn chairs in the early morning hours. Since the view resembled Van Gogh’s famous paintings, they decided to name the farm after his work.
The 11-acre farm features a 5-stall, concrete block barn, a 20m by 60m textile/sand dressage arena with mirrors, 4 double-fenced paddocks, and just one mile from the fabulous World Equestrian Center. Ship-in Dressage lessons are available, and Judy travels nationally for clinics. Boarding is not available at this time.

Joe & Archie
Eloise
Many horses have called SNF home through the years.
Dux and Lanciano moved with us to Florida in 2001. Shortly afterward, Wunderbar and Phoenix joined the family.
Nimbus and his airy trot arrived with great fanfare. Duncan joined as a lesson horse and entertained college students with his rapid ability to detect inexperienced handlers.
Archie came along as a rescue with unknown history and was used for lessons until his retirement somewhere around 30 years of age! Joe and Archie enjoyed trail rides together as well.
The first mare on the farm was Eloise (aka Mary the mare). Favory Vereina arrived as a yearling and is still here working his way to FEI. “Vern’s” little sister, Ravenna is following in his footsteps. After 25 years of only geldings, I am learning to appreciate mares.

Creme
No farm is complete without dogs and cats.
Hazel and Duke greet visitors, and Cream is happy to sit on laps during lessons. She is not much of a mouser but loves to catch (and torture) geckos.
